Spoiled Rotten

Getting married & planning a wedding can be nerve racking, scary & down right stressful. Not only is it a major life change, but putting together everything for that one day takes the skills & finesse of Martha Stewart. And it completely takes over your life, sucking up most (if not all) of your free time. There are, however, some lovely things that take place when people know you are a bride to be. Last week, at the restaurant, I had a night when I just wasn't myself. I kept bumping into things, making lots of mistakes & I lost count of the glasses & plates that I dropped - shattering to the ground. Instead of getting frustrated with the clumsy spell I was under, co-workers just announced, "She's getting married in 3 weeks." Everyone, even customers, nod with understanding.

I guess I never really noticed all of the attention lavished on brides to be. Total strangers notice your ring & ask when the big date is. They reminiscence about their wedding days & wish you lots of luck. Friends call just to see how you're doing & if they can be of any help to you. I feel as if I been especially spoiled. My mom & Aunt throw me a gorgeous white Xmas themed shower back in November. My NYC friends throw a fab surprise shower that featured the most amazing culinary delights. And as if that wasn't enough to make a girl feel loved, I received a special surprise from some of my web pals. Giao, Hope, Jes, Leslie & Kathleen got together & sent me beautiful wedding presents. I received a shiny, stainless steel kettle to brew my daily green tea & a meat grinder, so that I can finally make a proper chicken salad sandwich. WHOO HOO!! And Hope & her very lovely man Mike, sent us the prettiest white wine glasses. I was just so touched by their kindness. And so was Tom. He just can not get over all of the amazing people I've met through this site. And I know I've said this before, but, I truly feel blessed to not only have met them (my fab web girls) online, but in person as well. Giao, Hope, Jes, Leslie & Kathleen - I'm sending lots of thanks & hugs & kisses your way!!

You totaly deserve to be spoiled - it is not that you are a bride to be, it is that you are this wonderful, inspiring person that we all love, so it is wasy to see why you are spoiled!

Chicken salad is one of my favorite things, can I get you to make it when I come visit??

I still think of that day we all meet on the corner in NYC and Tom got to meet us - a flock of chatty girls - hah, he must have been on overload!

I wish you two the best - he really is great, and you can see in the photos I took of you two how much you love each other!

Not much longer now!

I bet your wedding day is going to be one to remember and that everything goes smoothly..

I think I avoided the stress of a wedding by going to the JP however my family wishes now that I had had a wedding..

Remember that no matter what happens, as long as you're pronounced man & wife it all worked!! You won't be any more or less married if the cake falls apart or you get a ladder in your hose!!
