Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French. Sour cream makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese; garlic makes it taste good! Alice May Brock
Dawn, you're making me smile. That quote comes from one of my favorite cookbooks, "The Alice's Restaurant Cookbook," which my mom received as a present when I was very small, and which is one of the cookbooks she would regularly let me cook from as I was growing up. The garlic quote is one of my favorite parts, as well as her glossary of terms: "Roast: To cook in the oven, as in, roasting a cake." Thank you for putting some happiness and levity into my day! :)
