Car Trouble

Tom & I are headed to Rhode Island today. We are taking a bus & then renting a car once we get to Providence. It was too outrageous to rent a car from NYC, something like $325.. for four days. The average NYC dweller doesn't own a car since the insurance is high & parking is a drag(expensive, too). Tom has done the math & figured out that it's cheaper for us to rent a car about 40 times a year, which we never do, than to own one. It's times like this that I really want one & don't care about the money or inconvenience. I'm not looking forward to dragging all of my Xmas gifts 5 blocks to the subway, down 3 flights of stairs & through the subway station to the bus depot. I hoping that I can get one soon & write it off as a business expense. Hmmmm, I smell a New Year resolution, well maybe not an actual resolution, but a goal. I will definitely be posting (hopefully some funny family pics) over the holiday.

Ugh, I certainly don't miss all the lugging to public transit to get to car places...but now we're burbies, and that affords loads of parking and nice neighbors, but it's all a bit...vanilla. I hope you make your new year goal come to fruition and hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas! When I catch a whiff of garlic while my mom's cooking (and she always uses garlic because we all love it that much), I'll think of you! Have a great time with the family!

That doesn't sound like much fun! Now I appreciate my old Jeep a little more!

Hope you have a great Holiday!
